My First Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving morning.

Sweet Potatoes for everyone today! "I'm Stuffed."

Tradition.

New Christmas Jammies at Grandma's on Thanksgiving. It will continue until they're 35.

Best family Christmas card photo, ever.

Everyone is Jolly. Nobody has an opinion.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!

31 week profile versus 6 month profile.

Had to pull out Cole's 31 week ultrasound photo after taking this photo. Can't believe how obvious his features were while in utero!

The "Stay Awake Until 8:00 P.M." technique.

Laps around the house in the wagon. Works like a charm.

Bristol Grace Povondra

Jeff & Erika welcomed Bristol Grace into the world at 10:19 AM on Sunday, November 22nd. She weighs 7 pounds, 6 ounces and is 20 inches long. A bundle of perfection. :)

Cole is pumped about his new cuz!

Cherub

Definition: [cher-uhb]
1. a celestial being. Gen. 3:24; Ezek. 1, 10.
2. Theology. a member of the second order of angels, often represented as a beautiful rosy-cheeked child with wings.
3. a beautiful or innocent person, esp. a child.
4. a person, esp. a child, with a sweet, chubby, innocent face

Someone described Cole as a "Cherub." Per the definition above, we think it's pretty fitting and possibly a new nick-name.

Surgery...Piece of Cake.

Two days after surgery, Cole is back at full strength. He is one tough little guy. Just another trait that he inherited from his mama. High pain tolerance. (I can't imagine anyone that is reading this would disgree...)

Doctor's Notes

Thought that we should document some of Cole's strange medical encounters in the first 6 months of his life. Thankfully, everything has been minor and ended with speedy recoveries.
(I'm thinking this will be a good reference when baby #2 comes along some day.)
Friday, November 20th: Thrush. Painted his mouth with a violet, stain and a prescription for a mouth wash. Swish the mouth wash around 4 times a day. Challenging on a 6 month old.
Friday, November 13th: Today Cole had to have out-patient surgery. A revision on his circumcision. Poor guy! The procedure went very well. He did great. Coming out of anesthesia was a little rough as the doctor said he was very angry and confused. After a little morphine to help pacify him, he was very comfortable and peaceful. Below you will see the tiny little hospital gown, and miniature blood pressure cuff.
October 2009- Diagnosed with H1N1, bronchitis and an ear infection.
June 2009: Diagnosed with Colic. (Not sure if that's really what it was, but needed something to call it!)
June 2009: Milk, Soy, Protein intolerant. (Horray for Aliementum!)
May 2009: Possibly exposed to Hepatitis A. ER trip to Children's and a big needle in the thigh.
May 2009: Jaundice- A visit from the nurses at Children's home health care every morning for a prick in the heel and living in a mini-tanning bed.

And turn to the left...yep, you're related.

6 Months!

November 8th has come quicker than we could have ever thought. Can't believe how fast six months flew by. Maybe it's because for the first three, we were sleep walking and not really living. If Danny were a betting man, he'd bet the next six fly by even faster.

This is where I document all of Cole's milestones, likes, dislikes, ect. Not because I don't enjoy sitting down filling out the baby books, but because in 15 years he will know that he had a savvy mother who blogged his "firsts" online. Get with the times, right!?

Say hello to my little string bean.
Stats:
Weight: 17.2- 45th percentile.
Height: 27.5 inches- 85th percentile.
Head: 17.5 inches- 75th percentile. (Big brain, probably from his mom.)

Milestones/ Likes/ Dislikes:
~You are "practically" crawling. You inch your way from A to B. Just starting to get the leg and arm movement down. (see video below)

~ We think you like gymnastics. You attempt to do a somersault. Also, enjoy the handstand position. (see video below)

~You say, "Goo goo, grrrrr, la la la, ha ha ha ha, mmmmmba." I am pretty sure that's just your way of communicating how great our parenting skills are. You also giggle and laugh pretty good when dad tickles you. (see video below)

~You LOVE applesauce. You really like sweet potatoes, and you pretty much hate everything else. (I just can't seem to figure out where Cole would develop his picky eating habits from...) Dr. Andreson told me today that you were supposed to be eating three to four jars of fruits/veggies a day. I think I maintained a great poker face while choking on my gum thinking to myself that we usually only give you one.

~ You make this "he ha he, he ha he" sound. Similar to 'Woody the Woodpecker.' (see video below.)

~You normally smile very big for just about everyone. However, you are starting to sense the danger of strangers. You will not go to everyone anymore. Just those that you know well. That being said, you are reaching for us! And that melts our hearts.
We love you sooooo much! Everyday you make us smile, sometimes cry, but most of all make us realize how blessed we are. Happy 6th month litte guy!
The giggle, laugh & Woody the Woodpecker show below.

The somersault, handstand, crawling, show below.

A serious win for a serious Husker fan.

I let my parents go to the game and tailgate before kick-off.
Looks like their friends seem a little clumsey.

Nothin' like ending the day with p.j's & Grandparents.

Halloween...Part Two.

Gearing up for trick-or-treating with some of
Ranny's delicious spaghetti and meatballs.
Topped that off with some of Sarah's tasty Jack-O-Lantern cake!
Time to hit the streets!
Boy, if ya want something done right you've got to do it yourself.

We take Halloween pretty serious around here.

P.S. Jake had his "costume" on for about 10 seconds.
We aren't that cruel!
